Making It - It's what we do and we love it!!

We love sharing our "making"skills with you - we love sharing your pride in what you make - it's so good for your self esteem - and ours.

Making It is a new class we are starting on Thursdays - 1.00 - 4,00. It is suitable for anyone who wants to sew and create special things - Tablemats, bags, tablerunners, pincushions, toys,cushions, small wallhangings and journal covers.

Classes are $10.00 - we would love to see to see you here.

Saturday Strippers for October - tomorrow - this Saturday!!

We have made up the design in two different sizes and we have Fabric kits for both of them The Kiwiana or New Zealand Christmas one is $26.00 and the Taupe and Cream is $21.00 - or we can make you a kit in the fabric of your choice. This pattern has been designed by Merryn Read.You'll be surprised how easy and table runner is to put together

Saturday Strippers is held at The Cloth Shop on the second Saturday of each month - in October that is the 8th - tomorrow!! The time is 8.30 - 9.30 and there is no charge to come. We have Show and Tell - so would love to see what you are making.

Good News about Saturday Strippers - this month - tomorrow - we are running an extra session between 1.00 and 2.00 - we will be repeating what we did at the morning session.

Saturday Sampler for October

Saturday Sampler this month is on the 8th October and you will be picking up your last block for 2011 - Block #9

Only 37 more sleeps until November 13th we will have "Revealing Day" We will have the Expresso 101, Tropical Cocktail and our Customised Selection made into three quilts with different settings. There will be patterns for all settings and a limited mumber of kits available. You will also be able to enrol for next year's selections at a special price on that day.

We have been making...........

Two new versions of the Easy Peasey Bag.These really are very quick and easy to make and they are fun!! Perfect for poppping in all the baby stuff, stitching projects for stitching group, phone and lunch for work or just swanning around looking cool! You can make a funky one for each of your outfits.

New Fabric

A new range of fabric designed by Judy Hansen really gorgeous colours I just love the teal and lime green colours together.

Fabric Books

Some new fabric books have just arrived into the shop - a little girly girly one - pink and princesses ($28.00) and a blue one about diggers and making hole and working with dirt. ($24.50) These make perfect little girfts for someone special and can be whipped up in no time at all.

Decorative Elephants - class with Adrienne Walker

Adrienne is coming back on the 14th October to teach a class on how to make her Decorative Elephants - these are quite gorgeous and for people who missed her Decoration class a couple of weeks ago and would like to make a Christmas decoration you can come along and make one on " Elephant Friday."

This is a photo of Adrienne, Doreen and Kay taken last Friday when Adrienne was here teaching her Covered Coathanger class - they called in to show us the "Just Dandy" wallhangings they started in her class - now finished and looking fabulous!!

Extra! Extra class with Jill Maas

Jill has agreed to come and do an extra class with us on Thursday 10 the November. She is going to teach her "Accessories" - Morrison Mouse, Noeline - the Pin doll- , Stan the Sock Man and the Brazen Birds. These are all free patterns so there will be no pattern charge for this class and Jill says you will finish at least two of them during the day. These will make great little Christmas Treats

Monday 10 October - this Monday - is Husky Day

This Monday - 10 October - is Husky Day. We will be finishing the Holly Berry Table runners. Any one who has bought a Husqvarna Sewing Machine from us is welcome to come to Husky Club - it is a perfect chance to learn more about your machine and sort out any problems you may have and of course meet other Husqvarna owners.

Just Arrived today.........

Penelope Pig, Maddy Monkey,Poochie Puppy and Bailey Bear - all come with their own little back pack of fabric which can be made up into a soft luxurious cuddle blankie. We have made Penelope Pigs's Blankie - Pink and White spots on one side and soft pink rosebuds on the other.

This weekend I am looking forward to..........

Attending the Masterton Quiters Retreat at St Matthews in Masterton. I'm looking forward to seeing you all later. This is the quilt we will be making - it will be fun!

Unfortunately that means I won't see the Saturday Strippers and Saturday Sampler Girls tomorrow - Liz and Amiee will be doing the demos this month, but we will all be on deck in November for the Revealing Day.
