We have just finalised arrangements with Leanne Beasley and Rosalie Quinlan from Australia to come and teach at a " Chistmas in July"

For the last few years we and Jill from Cottage Flair in Ngonataha have wanted to run a weekend together in a lovely place somewhere in the middle of the North Island where we can have a great weekend of stitching, learning, chat and fun - well now we have done it! On the first weekend in July - we will pack up the shop and travel from Palmerston North, Jill will pack up her shop and travel from Ngonataha and we will meet at the beautiful Oreti Village resort in Pukawa Bay in Turangi for our weekend retreat. Rosalie and Leanne travel around Australia running these retreats - this will be their first one in New Zealand!.
We would love you to join us!

Piece and Quiet Children's Activity Book
We have just finished making our sample of this lovely book but already we have had to order more patterns! We have photos of most of the pages on our website really new page - there are ten pages altogether - this page is the "Counting Carrots" page. ten baby carrots grow in their little individual gardens.If was fun making this and it certainly been very much admired here at the shop.
Pattern Book is $40.00.
Block of the Month for eleven months - $65.00 for the first month and $25.00 per month for the next ten months. You will receive one page each month complete with zips, pompoms, eyes, ribbons etc and on the eleventh month you will receive fabric for the cover.
Saturday Sampler and Strippers tomorrow 10th April
Month three for Saturday Sampler - tomorrow you need to come in and show us Block 2 and pick up Block 3. We have the textured block of the month ready - this month the twelve inch block is made up with sixteen small windmill blocks
Saturday Strippers starts at 8.30. This month we will show you how to make a Zig Zag quilt using 3" strips. It's really clever! This quilt really is quick to make - you need 33 strips and a free afternoon - and the quilt is made! One of our Saturday Sampler girls lent us her "Block Roller" last month so that we could make one and share the pattern with you ( we will have a demo on that) and we will demo the latest textured Block of the Month - Windmills. We are making our Textured Blocks into cushions and every second month we will produce a pattern in out "Pillow Talk" series featuring two cushions - the first one features the" Chenilling" and the "Smocking" textures Pattern is $20.00
A Kittens Tale
We are posting Block 1 "Under the Tree" now. This Block of the month is a perfect project for the winter - some stitching which is done by hand, applique which can be done by hand or machine and also machine piecing of the pinwheel blocks.
We have made this quilt up in soft blues, reds and creams - it looks great! This picture if of Block 1

Updated Class List for April
:- This week - Every Block is and experience with Griet Lombard, Husky Club on Monday, Beginners on Tuesday, Wednesdays are for Quilting on Wednesday and a new class we have started on Fridays "Don't bring your machine Fridays" - a class where everything we do is by hand. You can do hand applique, hand stitchery, hand piecing - anything you want to make by hand. Lynn is here today and she is making Jacobean Applique - at the moment snhe is sewing on her bias stems
Anna Williams is teaching her Shaded Faces 2 on the 24 and 25 April
We will be at Tote and Gloat on the 1st May. We are sponsoring this event with a Husqvarna Sewing Machine - someone who is at the show wil take this machine home. There will be a lucky draw during the day so you must wear your ticket to be in to win!!
