We had an excellent day at The Cloth Shop last Saturday when we had our Revealing Day for Saturday Sampler 2011.It was fun - and we felt proud and happy to show everyone the quilts. During the year we hang each of the blocks on the wall so between February and October the wall slowily gets covered in blocks - and then during October - after we have distributed the last block -we spend the month sewing the quilts together so they are ready for Revealing Day on the second saturday in November.

Porange
The latest colour this year is really two colours Pink and Orange - Porange
At the beginning of the year we called this selection of blocks Tropical Cocktail, but after they had been sewn into this quilt setting Porange seemed to be the perfect name!
We used a Quilt as You Go method to make Porange - that means that each block was quilted before being sewn together.We used a great varigated thread called "Buncha Violets" for the quilting
We have patterns and kits for the settiing of this quilt
Patterns are $20.00 and the kits are $80.00
Espresso 101
A couple of doors down from The Cloth Shop is a lovely little coffee shop called Espresso 101 - and coffee was the inspiration the brown and cream blocks we have called Espresso 101.
We have chosen a classic design for this quilt - it is quite big 75" x 75" - and the superb quilting done by Jenny Allen has made it really special.
We have patterns and kits for the setting of this quilt
Kits are $120.00 and patterns are $20.00
Hot Spots
This is our Customised Selection - that means that at the beginning of the year we chose a fabric that we loved, then chose a complimentary background and six co ordinating fabrics - and this is the result! This is also finished with a Quilt as you Go method - different than we one we used for Porange - and we have appliqued the spots on to the border - it is finished with a red and green pieced binding.
We have patterns for this setting of Hot Spots $20.00, b ut there are no kits as eveyone's customised quilt is personal to them and made using a different fabric.
You can choose any setting you like for your Saturday Sampler e.g. you can use the Espresso 101 setting to make up your Tropical Cocktail blocks, the Hot Spots setting for the Espresso 101 blocks or the Porange setting for ............ whatever takes your fancy!!

Selections for 2012! First of all "Customised"
Our selection for 2012 are:-
You choose your feature fabric and background. We haven't chosen our feature fabric or background yet - but when we do - they will be gorgeous!
Colin's Choice
Red and Cream.
The blocks will be made up with different red and a Cream background but you can choose your own colour to have with cream e.g. blues, greens browns etc.
Black and White with a splash of colour
The Blocks will be made up in black and white fabrics and will have a Black background. We have chosen turquoise for our splash of colour, but you can choose your whatever colour you like e.g.lime green, red, purple
City Scape
Black background with modern, strong colours
Saturday Sampler is ideal way to
learn how to quilt, start quilting again after a break, make an affordable quilt for you, your friends,your grandmother, a teenager you love, your dog, your cat.........
You can sew it by yourself, or with friends, in your quilting group - you can choose your own fabrics (customised) or let us choose them for you (Colin's Choice, Black and white W.a S. of C or City Scape) it's easy - and in October you will have sewn nine blocks ready for a quilt. You could have the quilt finished by Christmas - some of the Saturday Sampolers 2011 are already finished!
The Fee for Saturday Sampler is....
$35.00 if the fee for Saturday Sampler. You pay this fee and make your choice before the first Saturday Sampler day in February
If you choose the Customised Option you will need to purchase your Feature Fabric and Background from us when you make your selection.
