Last Saturday Sue and her husband Doug, who live in Palmerston North were walking down the Portobello Road in London and guess what they saw - The Cloth Shop. www.theclothshop.net They couldn't believe their eyes - and just had to go and have a look. Since then we have been looking at their web site and after all the riots in England during this week - which did affect shops in Portobello Road - we hope they are OK
Beginners Sampler Class
We are having a Beginners Patchwork and Quilting Sampler class in Spring. During September and October http://www.clothshop.co.nz/index.php?page=workshops we will hold Beginners classes on Saturdays bewtween 10.00 and 3.00 - the dates are 3rd and 17th September, 1st, 15th and 29th October.
Even if you know absolutely nothing about quilting now you could have a quilt finished by Christmas!!

Saturday Strippers this Saturday 13th August
This Saturday 13th August is Saturday Strippers Saturday - nthis month we are going to show the "new Latest Thing" the 35 Minute Quilt http://blog.heirloomcreations.net/?p=1897 We will show you how to make the quilt and will have samples to show you.
Warning! They are quite addictive - we have made up one quilt, have another one ready to sew and have plans for another one!

Saturday Sampler Day tomorrow
We are looking forward to see you tomorrow to pick up Block seven. I was going to put a photo of the blocks in bhere, but Colin is packing them up as I write, and he has the blocks home with him. There is a photo of the the Random Block for this month - Reverse Applique - you can see the rest tomorrow. We will be posting the mail order blocks out on Monday - thanks for the photos you have sent back this month
Today is Friday Open Day
Ever since we opened we have had "Open Day Friday" - You can come to the shop and work on your own projects - Cost is $2.00 a day.
Today Robin is making Chocolate Tables mats, Wendy is making a Cathedral Window pincushion,Lynne is quilting her quilt, Jan is making a hexagon quilt, Pam is making a Mckenna Ryan quilt, Anna is quilting her "Pretty quilt, Francie is quilting her Saturday Sampler.. We are very lucky on a Friday because Pam bakes fresh muffins before she comes from Dannevirke - today we had orange - and as a special treat I bought some Alligator which is a danish pastry type treat from our local bakery "Breadworks" It's Delicious!!
